Introduction: Several Phase-II trials have been designed to evaluate Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (TKI) and in particular Pazopanib in Neuroendocrine Neoplasia (NEN) but it’s efficacy is not yet demonstrated in a randomized Phase III trial.

#2846 Whole Genome DNA Methylation Profiling Identifies Neuroendocrine Tumor Origin

Introduction: Determining the origin of a neuroendocrine tumor (NET) of unknown primary can be challenging. Liver metastases can originate from any organ in the body, while pulmonary NETs can be metastases but also primary tumors. This especially holds true for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1 patients, who often have multiple primary pancreatic and intestinal NETs. It is important to know the origin of the primary tumor since resection or ablation is crucial in case of treatment with curative intent. Furthermore, the site of origin determines prognosis, treatment options and eligibility for clinical trials.

#2840 A Real-World Study of Patients with Carcinoid Syndrome at King’s College Hospital on Long-Term Telotristat Therapy

Introduction: Telotristat ethyl is a tryptophan hydroxylase inhibitor that has been shown to be effective against symptoms of carcinoid syndrome refractory to standard somatostatin analogue therapy by directly inhibiting serotonin production. While clinical trials have established short-term efficacy of the drug, we report an exploratory real-world study of 15 patients with metastatic neuroendocrine tumours on long-term Telotristat (median duration=8 months).
